For the second time in as many seasons, Kangaroo Flat and the Bendigo Goers will meet in the BDCA women's competition grand final. The Roos defeated the Goers in the inaugural grand final last December and the two sides continued their dominance in season two. The Goers qualified for the grand final after defeating clubmates Bendigo in Sunday's semi-finals. Bendigo won the toss and batted and posted 3-105 off its 20 overs. Lila Keck (36 not out off 26 balls) led the way with the bat for Bendigo. Two of the three wickets to fall were run outs. Shanaye Alexander (1-14) was the only wicket-taker for the Goers. In reply, the Goers reached the total for the loss of four wickets with 12 balls to spare. Ren Doyle hit three fours and two sixes on her way to 37 not out, while Hannah Graham added 25 not out. The other semi-final went down to the final over. Chasing Emu Creek's total of 3-144, Kangaroo Flat scored the winning runs off the third last ball of the match. Rindy Sawyer (33 not out), Sarah Perry (25) and Meagan Johnston (25 not out) led the Roos to victory. Earlier in the day, Sarah Mannes (38 not out), Angela Gamble (22 not out) and Kim Brogden (21 not out) batted impressively for Emu Creek. The Roos finished on top of the ladder and are expected to host next Sunday's grand final at Crusoe College. Have you signed up to the Bendigo Advertiser's daily newsletter and breaking news emails?
