Three men have been charged after two police officers were assaulted in Bendigo on Saturday night.

The officers were patrolling in View Street about 10.30pm when they tried to arrest a man for being drunk.
The 28-year-old man resisted arrest and allegedly assaulted one of the officers, a male constable.
It is alleged he continued to assault the officer even after pepper spray was used, before assaulting a female constable.

Another police unit attended the scene, outside a licensed premises, and helped with the arrest of that man as well as two others, aged 28 and 26.
The three men, all from Kangaroo Flat, were subsequently charged with assaulting emergency workers and affray.
They have been bailed to appear at Bendigo Magistrates' Court in May.
The two police officers were taken to hospital for observation, having sustained minor injuries.
