Surely with imagination, courage and some visionary leaders in government we could develop our own industries again. Australia has so many natural resources that we send off shore.
Once we were an adventurous brave country with burgeoning industries and creative entrepreneurs. What has happened? We have lost our courage.
If government backed new enterprises and supported those entrepreneurs initially as they grew, and also began to financially support the discoveries our universities create through research and invest in them, we could become the 'lucky country' again.
Those research discoveries simply cannot find the financial support needed from government to allow them development in Australia.
