Emergency services were called to the incident on Fogartys Gap Road in Walmer about 5.30am on Wednesday.
A Country Fire Authority spokesperson said there were initial reports of smoke coming from the vehicle.
The incident was declared safe about 6.05am.
There were no people in the car at the time and paramedics were not required, the CFA spokesperson said.
