The Tangey family arrived in Darwin on Thursday morning and will remain in isolation Howard Springs, 30km east of Darwin.
Laura Tangey said she, her brother Paul and mother Liz, are in good health and is enjoying the extra freedom allowed to them not they have returned to land.
"We can't thank the army enough (for all their help)," she said. "We can walk around all we want, we just have to wear a mask.
'Among our family we don't have to since we have all been with each other (the whole time). So we eat outside together."
The family disembarked from the Diamond Princess on Wednesday night and we taken straight to a Qantas plane.
"It was pretty smooth. We had the (Australian Medical Assistance Teams) come check us out and had already checked (and charted) our own temperature," Laura said.
"From 9pm groups were called (to get on buses). From the time we left the room to get on the bus was 15 minutes. Then we had a long wait on the buses - about four hours. We were in the last bus, so as soon as we got on the plane and sat down, the doors were shut.
"Everyone was a bit restless but it was like any other flight."

The quarantine for the returning Australians began when the plane took off, meaning they hope to leave the Northern Territory on March 4.
"That date we have been given is March 4," Laura said. "Our quarantine started exactly when the plane doors shut.
"Next week we will have more information about getting out and how get home. We're still not sure (on some details). We're hoping be home for the long weekend and the (Australian) grand prix."
Laura said the whole experience hasn't discouraged the family from wanting to travel.
"We are definitely still going on cruise ships," she said. "We did have fun. It was at the end of holiday and these occurrences are something you can't predict.
"We are going to book another big cruise and are talking about the British Isles but we want to support the fire affected areas in Australia.
"More cruise ships are stopping there in places like Kangaroo Island and Eden. We will investigate it when we get home."
