CFA crews have stopped a car fire spreading to a house in Havlin Street West today.
Firefighters were called when the Mitsubishi caught fire at the rear of the property, the Bendigo brigade's Craig Houlahan said.
"Police are going to investigate the cause," he said.
However, it appears likely the fire is linked to a battery charger being left on an unattended vehicle, Mr Houlahan said.
"The vehicle has caught fire and rolled into the back of a house," he said.
"Crews were able to contain the fire to the car and protect the house."
Mr Houlahan could not comment on why this car rolled but said in other cases hand brake cables had given out during car fires.
It took firefighters about 10 minutes to bring the fire under control once on scene, he said.
Paramedics were called but were not needed.
Police at the scene said they were not treating the fire as suspicious.
The road is expected to open shortly.
