ELMORE has set up another crack at ending a Northern United Cricket Association premiership drought of more than 20 years.
The Redbacks are the first team through to the grand final after defeating Heathcote by four wickets in Saturday's qualifying final at Elmore.
Elmore won its last premiership in 1998 and squandered the chance to end the drought last year when it lost the grand final to Dingee.
After winning the toss, Heathcote posted 7-103 off its 40 overs.
Only Luke Bell (42) and Corey Gilmore (20) reached double figures for the Saints, with the pair putting on 55 for the fifth wicket.
James Harney (2-15) picked up two wickets for Elmore, while captain Matt Gilmour (1-14 off 8) and Shivam Goel (1-12 off 8) combined for 2-26 off 16 tight overs.
The Redbacks were under the pump early in their chase at 2-6 with Gilmour (1) and Kane Goldsworthy (1) both out, but Harney (45), Luke Price (23) and Bailey Boyack (17) ensured Elmore regained the upper hand, reaching 6-110 in the 27th over to take the direct route through to the grand final.
Bell (2-31) and Brayden Klemke (2-23) took two wickets each for the Saints, who had their nine-game winning streak halted.
* Colbinabbin's hopes of winning a first flag since 1988 remain alive after the Ducks defeated Bagshot by 34 runs in the elimination final.
The Ducks recovered from 3-31 early to post 130 after being sent in at Colbinabbin.
Skipper Daniel Morgan (29), Brad Stewart (27) and Xavier Hooppell (21) were the best with the bat for the Ducks, while Matt Jeffries (3-26) bagged three wickets for Bagshot.
Bagshot was all out for 96 in reply, with its chase always going to be hard work after falling to 3-19 early.
No.3 Jordan Hamilton (34) top-scored for the Razorbacks. After coming in at the fall of the first wicket Hamilton was the last batsman dismissed when bowled by Morgan (2-26).
Colbinabbin will take on Heathcote in next Saturday's preliminary final.
The ledger is 2-1 in favour of the Ducks this season.
