The 24-year-old was promoted to the Richmond senior side for the clash with the Gold Coast Suns at Metricon Stadium.
Campbell's AFLW debut is testament to Campbell's desire to make it to the highest level.
Campbell missed the best part of two seasons when she suffered a serious knee injury playing for the Bendigo Thunder.
A trial session with Richmond's VFLW squad in Shepparton in late 2018 was the turning point for Campbell.
She dominated the session and earned a spot on Richmond's VFLW list for 2019.
Campbell was one of the Tigers' best in the VFLW last year and Richmond quickly contracted her as one of their seven AFLW pre-draft selections.
"When I did my knee I wondered if I'd missed the boat with AFLW because I thought it can be so hard to get into the system,'' Campbell said when Richmond signed her to a contract last year.
"I'm so lucky to be given the opportunity with the Tigers. Hopefully, I can take it to the girls in the AFLW."
Campbell was the only inclusion to the Richmond side which lost in round one to Carlton.
Another former Bendigo player - Kodi Jacques - retains her place in the Tiger line-up.
Should Jacques and Campbell play well for the Tigers in the next two games, they should retain their place for Richmond's AFLW clash with Geelong at the Queen Elizabeth Oval on February 29.
