Drought conditions have seen water bird and duck numbers sink to critically low levels, and have decimated their habitat.
It's unbelievable to think the state government would allow thousands of native ducks to be brutally maimed, wounded and killed for a ''recreational' duck shooting season.
Our native ducks and water birds need our protection.
Now more than ever we need to tell the government why this slaughter of our native animals needs to stop.
The government has a chance to align its policy with community sentient and step-up with other Australian states that have banned duck shooting.
Our elected parliamentary representatives cannot turn away from doing the right thing.
They must respect constituent sentiment and ban duck shooting in Victoria from 2020, forever.
