Police have been told a man demanded cash from a Gillies Street bank about 4pm, claiming he had a firearm.
He then fled on foot with the cash.
Police believe the same man threatened staff at a Bridge Road service station about 7.30pm.
He claimed he had a firearm and made threats, before fleeing on foot with cash.
OTHER NEWS:
No one was injured in either incident.
A police investigation into both incidents remains ongoing.
