The club which is based at Lake Weeroona, will start a learn to row program this Thursday at 6pm.
"The aim is to give women, especially mature age women the opportunity to have a go at rowing," Bendigo Rowing Club president Cathleen Farrelly said.
"The opportunity allows them to get together with other women who are interested in rowing.
"I myself started rowing at a much older age around 20 years ago and then gave it up to have children and then I came straight back into it once my eldest child showed an interest in the sport."
The club will introduce participants to the fundamental basics of rowing under the guidance of trained coaches.
No experience is necessary and is open to individuals of all fitness levels.
Farrelly said the program gave participants the chance to row in a non-competitive environment with like-minded individuals.
"You don't have to be competitive and row in all of the annual state regattas," Farrelly said.
"It's the ideal sport to take into old age as it takes the pressure off your joints whilst boosting overall fitness."
In addition to physical exercise, the club offers more.
"We have plenty of social rowers at the club particularly older men and women who get out on the lake in groups of four and train together, there's such a brilliant social aspect to the sport as well," Farrelly said.
Recently the club has seen a surge of success from young female rowers, including current club champion Livia Rosaia.
"We have so many junior females who are rising stars. There's been plenty of success among the group and it has been amazing to watch their progress.
"But it would also be great to see more junior boys come along and row too."
The club is in the middle of regatta season, with several members competing this weekend at the 2020 Nagambie Regatta.
The club is based at Bendigo's Lake Weeroona and has a strong contingent of rowers across multiple skill and age levels.
