JUST as it had done during the 1970s, '90s and 2000s, Mitiamo ended the 2010s by winning the Loddon Valley league's last premiership of a decade.
There had been plenty of disappointment along the way though for the Superoos before winning their 2019 premiership.
The Superoos played in four senior grand finals during the decade, but lost in 2015 and 2016 to the Bridgewater juggernaut and again fell short in 2018 when defeated by Newbridge.
In all three of those years the gallant Superoos had fought their way through to the grand final from the elimination final.
Having taken the toughest of routes in those three years, in 2019 the Superoos finished top three, won both the qualifying final and second semi-final, enjoyed a week off and then overcame a slow start in the grand final to defeat Pyramid Hill by 22 points at Calivil.
The Superoos - whose previous three flags had been won in 2009, 1999 and 1979 - had trailed by as many as 31 points in the grand final, but soaked up the early onslaught from the Bulldogs to win 11.16 (82) to 9.6 (60) and cap a memorable year for the club.
Not only did the Superoos win the senior flag, they also won the A Grade netball premiership in what was a fairytale ending to the club's 130th anniversary season.
The senior flag was co-captained by midfielder Terry Reeves, who savoured a 2019 trifecta by winning a premiership medal, grand final best-on-ground medal, as well as the league's Harding Medal.
Reeves' triumph was one of three Harding medals won by Mitiamo players during the decade, with Luke Mitchell also taking out the honour back-to-back in 2010 and 2011.
While there were four grand final appearances for the Superoos during the decade, there was also a lean three-year period when the club won just nine of its 48 games between 2012 and 2014.
Reeves ended the decade as the Superoos' top-ranked player with 234 best player votes (six for being named best, five for second and so on), while the club had two players boot more than 200 goals.
Ryan Haythorpe (225) and Justin Maddern (219) never crossed paths together at the Superoos, but between them kicked 444 goals during a decade in which Mitiamo won 94 of its 181 senior games.
