The processing facility was temporarily closed its doors last week after bushfires in New South Wales meant a a paper mill in Tumut could no longer accept mixed paper.
Concerned with stockpiling of process recycling, Veolia made the decision to temporarily close the Echuca site.
But the site will re-open on February 17 following positive discussions with Visy, whose Tumut mill receives recyclable material from the Echuca facility.
Visy advised Veolia they hope to be able to receive material in February.
Veolia's Echuca facility services eight local councils including Mount Alexander, Loddon, Central Goldfields, Berrigan, Swan Hill, Gannawarra, Murray and Moira shires.
"We provide 150 direct jobs and underpin further indirect employment in the local economy through our overall waste management activities," a statement from Veolia said.
"Veolia is committed to providing a long term sustainable recycling solution for the regional councils and their residents. (We) will continue to work in partnership with all our stakeholders to deliver the best environmental outcome."
