The former White Hills star did another solid job behind the stumps as the Renegades restricted the Heat to 7-154 off their 20 overs.
For the second match in a row, much to the disappointment of a big group of Bendigo cricket fans who made the trip to Marvel Stadium, Stepien wasn't required to bat.
He watched on as skipper Aaron Finch (63 not out off 49 balls) and Mohammed Nabi (38 not out off 28 balls) put on 87 for the fourth wicket to guide the Renegades home with four balls to spare.
While Stepien's BBL stint for this summer comes to a close, the Renegades' win extended the season of former Sandhurst spinner Liam Bowe.
Bowe's side the Sydney Thunder stayed in fifth place on the back of the Renegades' win over the Heat and they now face the Hobart Hurricanes in Thursday night's elimination final.
Stepien will turn his attention back to club cricket with Carlton, while the Victorian Futures League team has a four-day clash with ACT/NSW Country at Casey Fields, starting next Monday.
Stepien is expected to be selected in the Victorian side after he made 90 on debut in the four-day team against South Australia in November.
