Burdett sank eight birdies in the Evolution Copy Print Solutions-backed tournament to win by one shot from West Australian Rick Kulacz.

Burdett bogeyed his opening hole - the par-fourth sixth - and didn't make another blunder until his final hole - the par-four fifth.

In between times Burdett produced some stunning golf.

A birdie on the eighth was followed by a birdie on the par-five ninth that was set up by a sublime pitch shot.

Birdies on the 11th, 13th, 15th and 17th catapulted Burdett up the leaderboard.

After making pars on the potentially difficult 18th and 1st holes, Burdett birdied the short par-four second hole and the par-five fourth to grab the lead on his own at seven-under par.

The bogey on the fifth hole saw him drop back to six-under, but he'd done enough to secure victory.

Burdett's win came 24 hours after he finished equal runner-up in the Axedale Pro-Am.

Another player to enjoy good form at Axedale and Neangar Park was hometown favourite Andrew Martin.

Martin followed up a tied for second placing at Axedale with an equal third on his home deck at Neangar Park.

Martin mixed six birdies with two bogeys in his four-under par round of 67.

"It was one of those days, a bit like yesterday, where I've hit it better and scored better, but I still walk away pretty happy,'' Martin said.

"It wasn't stress free. I battled to find a couple of the fairways and I had a three-putt on the 15th.

"On the 17th (par-five) I was on the front fringe in two and couldn't get up-and-down for birdie, so that was frustrating.

"I managed to birdie the 18th so that was a pleasing way to finish."

Martin finished in a tie for third alongside Axedale Pro-Am winner Chris Wood and Victorian Ben Ford.

A group of 10 players finished tied for sixth at three-under par, including Bendigo's Kris Mueck.

Mueck raced to the lead early when he birdied three of his first four holes.

Mueck started his round on the sixth hole and birdied the sixth, eighth and ninth.

A bogey on the par-five 11th stopped his momentum before he regained the shot with a fine birdie on the par-three 16th.

Missed opportunities for birdies on the 17th and second holes put paid to Mueck's winning chances, but it was an encouraging round as he returns to professional ranks after a year off.

Martin said the professionals were impressed with the quality of the courses at Axedale and Neangar Park.

"Everyone enjoys coming up here, hopefully it continues to get bigger and better,'' Martin said.

"It would be nice to get Bendigo or Belvoir Park involved as well and have a third Pro-Am here.

"We could, hopefully, get a sponsor involved to have a bonus for all three days which would be nice."

The Pro-Am series now heads to Gippsland with events in Warragul, Bairnsdale, Yarram, and Traralgon over the next week.
