BENDIGO will go up against a Ballarat side to be coached by former Carlton star Anthony Koutoufides in their inter-league match in May.
Ballarat had appointed retired Richmond premiership player Shaun Grigg as its inter-league coach for 2020 in August last year, but was forced to search for a replacement after Grigg joined Geelong as a development coach.
Ballarat this week announced Koutoufides, who played 278 games for the Blues, including in the 1995 flag, as its new representative coach.
Bendigo is still to make its coaching announcement for the inter-league day at Ballarat on Saturday, May 2, which will feature senior and under-18 football, as well as open and under-17 netball.
Darryl Wilson, who is back at the helm of Strathfieldsaye as a co-coach, led Bendigo last year to its 99-point QEO demolition of Outer East in the senior match.
Ballarat copped a 74-point thrashing off Hampden last year, but did win the last encounter against Bendigo by 11 points in 2017.
