Australia's best will compete in the 2020 EasyTow Malibu Masters.
The tournament, which is hosted by the Bridgewater Water Ski Club, will see the country's best performers compete in trick, jump and slalom events.
The tournament starts on Friday and runs through until Sunday, with the skiers more than ready to take to the water.
One competitor, 17-year-old Bailey Christie, is excited to show all he has learnt since the tournament in 2019.
"Since last year I've been to nationals, Moomba and the Under-21 World Championships in Canada which all went very well," Bailey said.
"Heading into this competition I'm feeling very good and have a few new tricks in my run this year."
Bailey's expertise is tricking and this year he will take it up a level and compete in the Open Men's category.
"It's always a tough weekend at the Australian Masters, all of the best skiers are here.
"But I love a challenge."
Bailey's older brother Jack is also eager to return to the water this weekend.
Similar to his brother, Jack also had a year of success in the lead-up to the tournament.
The 19-year-old put himself to the test at competitions in Florida during 2019.
"Since going over to America last year I've definitely improved," Jack said.
"I can now envision an Under-21 world record and hopefully move myself to number one within the division.
"I am really looking forward to showing what I've learnt during the Australian season."
One of the tournament's youngest skiers, Milla Bennett, 16, looks forward to showing her new techniques on the water.
"Since I was last in the event last year I've improved a lot. I've put in plenty of hours of training to help me go further."
Bendigo's own champion water skier Jason Sleep will compete in slalom and trick categories.
"At the moment I'm skiing very well. My body is holding in there and this weekend I will try and break a few more records," Sleep said.
There's nothing Sleep is more proud of than showcasing the Loddon River at Bridgewater, a place where he spends endless hours on the water.
"The Masters is an awesome competition, I love it and can't wait to get on the water," he said.
"Hopefully it doesn't get as hot as it has in previous years.
"It has been stinking hot," he laughed.
A goal of all the competitors at the Australian Masters is to challenge each other to secure the coveted Glenn Thurlow Trophy, awarded to the most outstanding skier of the weekend.
