THE 2010-19 decade for Inglewood in the Loddon Valley league was very much a tough slog as just 16 wins from 160 games for the senior team attests.
The Blues claimed eight of the decade's 10 wooden spoons, avoiding last position in only 2010 and 2016, while they lost 49 games by at least 100 points.
Inglewood's highest finish of the decade was in 2010 when the Blues won five games and ended the year sixth under coach Graeme Abbott.
Among the Blues' five wins that 2010 season was a 127-point belting of Bears Lagoon-Serpentine in what was Inglewood's biggest victory of the decade.
The Blues prevailed 25.13 (163) to 5.6 (36) at home, with Jeremy Mills slotting 10 goals.
The Blues also notched a notable victory against the Bears during 2016 on their 140th anniversary celebration weekend when they romped home by 111 points.
However, the most memorable of the Blues' 16 wins of the decade was their last in round three of 2018 when they finally ended their Calivil United hoodoo.
The Blues' 14.12 (96) to 14.9 (93) upset win at home was their first over Calivil United since 2002 and ended a stretch of 31 losses in a row to the Demons.
"The way we went out in the first quarter today was exactly the way we wanted to play our footy and I'm really proud of all the boys and their efforts," Blues' coach Ryan McNish said after the victory, which was sealed thanks to a Liam Drummond goal.
While the Blues were able to end their run of defeats against Calivil United, they were unable to beat either Bridgewater of Pyramid Hill during the decade.
The team they beat the most through the decade was the Bears (four wins), followed by Maiden Gully YCW, Marong and Mitiamo (three each).
Former captain Shane Harris ended the decade as both the player with Inglewood's most best player votes and goals kicked.
Harris amassed 153 votes (six for being named best, five for second best and so on) during stints from 2010-12 and 2015-18.
Key position player Harris featured among Inglewood's best players 39 times for the decade, while he was the only Blues' player to kick more than 50 goals between 2010 and 2019 with 114.
Harris booted goals in 56 games for the Blues, whose next best goalkicker for the decade was Sam Williams (49).
While it was a lean decade for Inglewood's senior team, the Blues' reserves and under-18 sides both had a taste of finals action.
The reserves made four finals appearances and the under-18s six, including making the 2016 grand final when they were pipped by YCW by two points having valiantly fought from fifth.
