The chamber's motto is 'classical music the world over', an homage to their musicians who play across the globe, but maintain the same enthusiasm playing in the open air at the Cologne Cathedral in Germany or in the Sydney Opera House as they do in small venues and for regional communities.

With a mantra of inspiring cross generational enjoyment of classical music, the ensemble performs approximately 300 concerts worldwide every year.

Founded in Cologne, a city known for its music and the renowned University of Music, which has trained generations of musicians for decades, who graduate with unparalleled learning, according to chamber spokesman Jens Kehling.

"Taking advantage of this pool of talent, a stock of outstanding musicians has accrued that in a changing cast of musicians take our motto across the world," Mr Kehling said.

The multifaceted composition of the ensemble provides every member of the chamber with the opportunity to perform as a soloist, whether it be in New Zealand, Spain, Great Britain or elsewhere in the world.

The chamber's repertoire is ever expanding and consists of primarily handpicked pieces.

The appeal of the program, which is highlighted in Wednesday's show is the mergence of popular works with unknown words, from a variety of musical epochs.

This sees familiar greats such as Mozart and Vilvaldi played in concert with Sergei Prokofieff and Astor Piazzolla.

The mix provides diversity, with the audience to be suitably entertained by the linkage between the two themes.

At the Sacred Heart Cathedral, the program's emphasis will be on Antonio Vivaldi's works and his famous 'La Tempesta di Mare'.

The Tooby Blues and Roots music festival is back this weekend after a year hiatus.

Co-hosted by the Bendigo Blues and Roots team, the festival takes place across three picturesque venues - the Tooborac Hotel and Brewery, Merindoc Wine Cellar and McIvor Estate.

Quality live music, great beer and wine, street food and good times are guaranteed all weekend, with the festivities beginning yesterday and running until Monday.

Artists from central Victoria and Melbourne will be on show, including Bendigo locals Luke Harrington and Mariah McCarthy.

Tickets are $10 per venue, per day.
