IT was always going to be tough for Calivil United to match the heights of the 2000s during its 2010-19 decade in the Loddon Valley league.
After all, the Demons did win six consecutive flags (2003-08) during the 2000s.
But the Demons did manage to add another premiership cup into their trophy cabinet during the 2010s when they ended the Bridgewater dynasty in 2017.
The Mean Machine had won the previous seven premierships and led Calivil United by 10 points at half-time of their 2017 grand final.
Then the Demons unleashed a rampant second half, booting 10 goals to three to run away with a 34-point victory.
Calivil United's Luke Marchesi kicked four goals from the midfield - including the Demons' only three in the first half - and was awarded the AFL Victoria Medal.
2017 was one of two senior grand finals the Demons played in for the decade.
Although, the less said about their 2010 encounter against Bridgewater - a 115-point shellacking - the better for the Demons.
The Demons figured in seven of the decade's 10 finals series and their total of 93 wins from 174 games ranks fourth in the league.
Their sixth-placed finish in 2013 was the first time since 1995 the Demons had missed the finals.
As well as their senior flag in 2017, the Demons also won reserves (2011) and under-18 premierships (2014) during the decade and had two Harding medallists.
Midfielder Ben Knight won the Harding Medal in 2017 - the same year he captained the Demons' premiership.
And the Demons had the winner again the following season in 2018 when ruckman Chris Down saluted.
Down had also captained the Loddon Valley earlier in the year against Golden Rivers in the league's return to representative football after a two-year hiatus.
Down ended the decade ranked second for best player votes at the Demons with 217 behind Henry Miller's 255.
Former captain Miller featured among the Demons' best players in 69 games through the decade, while Down was in the best 51 times in his four seasons.
The only Calivil United player to kick more than 100 goals for the decade was 2017 premiership coach Anthony Dennis (110), who played from 2012-18.
