Crews will be dressing Bendigo as 1940s Boston over the weekend with traffic access to the area expected to be impacted for three days.
Location manager Drew Rhodes said filming will happen in Wattle Street near the cathedral on Monday, in Park Road and Pall Mall between Mitchell and Chapel streets, on Tuesday and McKenzie Street between Short and Don streets on Wednesday.
"We have had to change our plans because of some stormy weather that is forecast on Monday," Mr Rhodes said.
"Significant letter drops have gone out (to traders and residents) but it's good to say specifically this is what we plan to do.
"There has been fantastic support from council. They have closed (Pall Mall) for cycling events and other things and we have happened to choose a section road that is similar to that.
"There will be some significant closures and diversions in place along Pall Mall, with traffic management in place with the support of Victoria Police."
The film tells the story of Korean athlete Suh Yun-bok's win at the 1947 Boston Marathon.
Recently, the shot in Ballarat with hundreds of locals cast as extras in the film.
"It ran really smoothly. It's a large operation when you're trying to close down some roads, as we are in Bendigo and did in Lydiard Street in Ballarat," Mr Rhodes said.
"So we're greatly appreciative of the support from the community. We can't do this without the support of the community, it is a really important factor.
"Sometimes great levels of support sounds glib but people are interested and want to know what we're doing, so we invite them to come take a look."
In order to recreate the era, streets need to be cleared of modern cars and infrastructure, and some buildings will need to be dressed.
"The film is about a marathon, so unusually we chew up a bit of real estate filming across blocks, particularly in the beautiful area of Park Road and Pall Mall, which will be a stunning back drop for a climactic sequence," Mr Rhodes said. "Bendigo is quite a good double for 1940s Boston. The spire of the cathedral is spectacular (as is) the streetscapes where the court house is."
