THE Country Fire Authority has urged people to monitor conditions after a grassfire began on McKenzie Road towards Echuca.
Seventeen tankers are responding.
The CFA says there is currently no threat to the public but people should remain informed and monitor conditions.
An advice message has been issued for Byrneside, Cooma, Gillieston, Girgarre, Girgarre East, Harston, Kyabram, Kyabram South, Kyvalley, Lancaster, Merrigum, Mooroopna North, Mooroopna North West, St Germains, Stanhope, Taripta, Tatura, Tongala, Tongala East, Undera, Willowdene, Wyuna, Wyuna East.
Another has been issued for Bamawm, Echucha and Strathallan.

- Keep the roads clear so emergency services can respond.

- Smoke may be visible from nearby roads and communities.
