SCHOOL HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES
ELECTRONICS WORKSHOP
School holiday electronics workshops for children are being offered by members of Bendigo Amateur Radio and Electronics Club.
These workshops have been running for over 10 years and aim at providing skills and enthusiasm to the next generation of engineers.
The workshops are all-day sessions which will include soldering techniques, revision and completing a project that the child can take home.
Cost for the workshop is $65.

SUMMER FUN
There is fun for the whole family at the Port of Echuca Discovery centre these holidays.
The team at the Port of Echuca Discovery Centre has been working hard to transform the Cargo Shed on the Echuca Wharf into a child-friendly space.
This space will include various games, toys, costumes, activities and more.
The centre also has a school holiday program which features two sessions each week until Friday, January 24 of 'Kids Torchlight Tours' and 'Art Classes with Murray Ross'.

BACK TO SCHOOL CRAFTS

CELEBRATE CHINESE NEW YEAR
OUTDOOR TAI CHI

DOUBLE MOVIE RATATHON
Celebrate Chinese New Year, the year of the rat with these two family-friendly movies.
The movies, Mulan and Ratatouille, will be shown on a big screen and will let the whole family escape into a world of fun.

SUMMER IN THE PARKS
HISTORICAL WALKING TOURS
Learn more about Bendigo's history with a walking tour through this old gold mining town.
Children can attend the walk for free.

CONTEMPORARY DANCE
Take part in a dance workshop with ZFit Studios.

EVENING DANCE

CENTRE STATE SWAP MEET
Now in its 28th year, the Centre State Swap Meet is expected to bring in about 200 attendees for all the usual swap meet action.
Organised by Centre State Rodders, this event will raise money for the club and various charities.
The swap meet will include 300 stalls selling everything from tools, bric-a-brac and much more; along with the ever popular Show 'n' Shine.
Entry is $8 and people under 15 get in for free.

RIVER GARDENS
The sun is shining and that means it is the perfect weather to visit an open garden this weekend.
River Gardens in Axedale features perfumed roses, salvias, lavender and granny bonnets adorning the terraced gardens.
The gardens overlook the Campaspe river and include water features, seating under trees and much more.
There will also be the chance to mix and match garden plants for compatible planting combinations.
Entry $8, children free to attend. Devonshire tea, coffee and scones available for additional fee.
No dogs allowed.

PERFORMANCES AND EXHIBITIONS
THE PAUL GUEST COLLECTION
Former Olympic rower and family court Judge, Paul Guest, has gifted his $2 million collection of artwork to a local gallery.
Featuring more than 200 works, Mr Guest's collection of modern and contemporary Australian paintings and sculptures and focuses on abstraction and conceptualism.
The decision to gift his collection to the Bendigo Art Gallery came from his love of the gallery.
The collection started in the late 1960s after Paul Guest met artist Andrew Sibley.

JOSH MUIR: WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND?
Experience augmented reality at the Josh Muir: What's on your mind? exhibition.
The exhibition features works with hidden meanings behind them, which is accessible through the use of an iPad.
This is a free exhibition with limited availability.

WONDERLAND
This exhibition will appeal to both adults and children, showcasing a playful atmosphere in a gallery space, with works from local artists.
The exhibition features Bendigo LEGO User Group's iconic landmarks from our region, jewellery, textile animals, needle felting, ceramics, pop art paintings and much more.
