Compelled by seeing their band mate and his family narrowly escape fire ravage Mallacoota, local band Blackthorn have managed to reach out to friends and colleagues, assembling a great line up of local acts for their STAGEhand fundraiser.
The event starts at 1pm and is being supported by the Rifle Brigade Hotel, Holgate Brewhouse, Brookes Brewery and KAIJU! Beer.
On Australia Day, The Son of The Blues, alongside Men at Work's Jerry Speiser are pairing up with Alawishus Jones and the Outright Lies to put together a double header show full of theatre, laughs and great music at The Shiraz Republic in Cornella.
The vintage blues played from the back of an old Bedford truck with a glass of award winning Shiraz in hand will be part of the day's festivities, with the music starting from 2pm.
A modern blues explosion, Sons of The Blues combines two musicians from Australia's best loved 80s bands and octane vocalist Patrick Byrne.
Men at Work's powerhouse drummer Jerry Speiser joins lead guitarist John Phillips from the early Goanna Band to put their stamp on Chicago and Mississippi Blues with classic overtones from the 1950s through to the 1970s.
The creative and infectious sound the duo created has drawn universal appeal and is getting their crowds involved, excited and dancing.
The sounds they're producing from the deep south blend authenticity with three of the finest purveyors of twenty first century blues.
Alawishus Jones and the Outright Lies have made a habit of combining multi-instrumental song lines that are rambunctious and tasty, in equal measure.
Fixtures of the blues festival scene, their debut album Little White Lies was recently launched to the approval of all and sundry.
The Shiraz Republic is located at 507 Hamblin Road, Cornella.
