Experts believe almost half a billion wildlife have been killed in NSW alone since the fires started in September.
Thousands of other animals have been injured in bushfires still blazing across the country.
"There's an overwhelming want to help but people don't know how," Bendigo artist Sarah Wallace-Smith said.
Different wildlife services have called on the community for items like material joey pouches and bird nests.
A number of different Bendigo events have been created where people can come together to knit, sew, or crotchet the different items.
Ms Wallace-Smith and Arnold Street Gallery owner Susan McMinn have organised a crafting bee at the gallery on Saturday, January 18.
All items will be donated to the Animal Rescue Crafters Guild.
"Just like everybody else, I've been extremely overwhelmed with what's going on," Ms McMinn said. "Sarah came to me and said why don't we do a crafting day.
"I thought this would be a great idea because I wanted to contribute in some way."
Back Creek Quilts is also hosting another craft event at the Old Church on the Hill on Saturday, January 11. All pouches, nests, and wraps will be donated to the Animal Rescue Collective.
Shae Hellstedt and Kirstie Stocks are also running an event on Monday, January 13 at the Bendigo Presbyterian Church.
"We're all feeling a bit helpless and heartbroken," Ms Hellstedt said. "We thought this could be a way to bring the community together to contribute to the recovery."
Ms Hellstedt said the majority of the items at her event would be sent to the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park, where about 18 burned koalas are being treated.
Thousands of other koalas were killed when bushfires burnt through a third of the South Australian island.
"It just breaks my heart," Ms Hellstedt said. "I think the carers in all of this work so hard and probably need the extra support."
