The event has attracted 417 entrants from across Australia for a series of Victorian Athletic League professional races ranging from 70m to 1600m.
Some of the country's best runners will compete in the event's feature race, the 100m Daylesford Gift at Cricket Willow.
"We often find there's flow-on from Maryborough, with a few of this year's winners competing on Sunday," event coordinator Adrian Tinetti said.
Among them is Bendigo's Michael Preece who won the 1600m Open event at Maryborough on New Year's Day.
The feature event of the day is the 100m Daylesford Gift which will be run at 3.20pm.
The 2019 winner John Hilditch will return to the carnival, but will instead race in the 300m masters event.
The winner of the Gift will receive a handcrafted Jabaroo cricket bat courtesy of Cricket Willow.
The carnival was named Run for the Willow as it's held at Cricket Willow in close proximity to willow tree plantations.
"It's the name we chose for our event back when we established it in 2005," Tinetti said.
"A former Stawell Gift finalist, Chris Tuohy, came to Cricket Willow and was out on the oval walking around.
"He came over to me and came up with the name Run for the Willow.
"It represents a great link between our history of willow trees and running gifts."
The first race will be run at 11.20am. Entry is $10 for adults and $5 concession / children (ages 6-18). The event is a fundraiser for Camp Quality.
