Our Letter of the Week!
Firefighting volunteers are priceless to our community.
In these extraordinary times, many volunteers have fought fires for 100 days with weeks to come before the fire threat is over.
They have protected the public, homes, farms, stock, native animals and vital infra-structure worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
Editorial: Fires, heat dominate debate
Yet our Prime Minister says they must suffer financial hardship by limiting the maximum payment to $6,000.
It would be priceless to see the PM and his ministers go without pay for 100 days!
Greg Clark, Woodend
