In just 100 days the city will be celebrating its 150th Bendigo Easter Fair.
Bendigo Easter Fair Society president Simon Mulqueen said there was a lot of nervous energy among organisers as they continued to shape the historic event.
"It's shaping up to be enormous event, hopefully locals and people who visit will enjoy it," he said.
"When you look at that 150 years, a lot has happened and the fair has been there through all of it. It's an iconic event and we want to make sure it's celebrated in the style befitting a major event.
"We are bringing a few things bring back that were popular. We're just finalising information relating to the 150th ball, which is 1920s theme. One hundred years ago it was the roaring 20s, so we will celebrating that."
The fair will be expanded to four days for the first time since 2010 with organisers ensuring there is something for everyone.
"This year's parade was spectacular and it will be great to see Dai Gum Loong come into his own (when he parades solo)," Mr Mulqueen said. "The Bendigo Chinese Association is also putting on a major event on Saturday celebrating 150 years. They are developing that specifically for this. We also have elements coming into play including one major element yet to be announced but will come together in the next few weeks. You talk to people from Bendigo anywhere in the world and the one thing they have in common - they remember fondly the Easter fair."
Mr Mulqueen said organisers were also looking to contact former committee members and former Popular Girls - a fundraising contest that ran from 1930 to 1996.
"Were looking for details and information on those people so we can invite them to a special event," he said. "We would love to get them involved, it's just a matter of finding them."
The fair is also encouraging businesses to support the festival.
"We're grateful to those who have come on board and are hoping more come on board to help," he said. "Easter is really about supporting community and, in economic sense, it's a huge boost to city."
