Founded in 2003, Righteous Pups continues to provide a life changing service to Australian families living with illness and disease.
Staff from the Bendigo ANZ branch were on hand to donate the proceeds from a recent function to the Lockwood based charity, which raises and trains assistance, Type 1 diabetes medical alert and therapy dogs.
These remarkable animals have an ability to connect and bond with children with disability or disease, at risk teens and young people with disabilities to heal and thrive in life.
ANZ relationship manager Mark Harris said staff from his organisation had been especially impressed with the community focused nature displayed by Righteous Pups.
"They do some special things, not just for the young families in need as far as the issues they may have, but also with what they do for the children so far as they get involved in Righteous Pups to help train the dogs.
"It's a multi-benefit in as far as the people they get involved, they train the dogs and then get them out, not just to Bendigo, but all the way around the country.
"They really support families, and children, to give them a better quality of life."
Mr Harris said the bank began its association with Righteous Pups just over 12 months ago, following a corporate golf day that helped to raise funds and awareness of the Righteous Pups organisation.
"We heard stories from some of the families involved, and our team was really touched, not just with what Righteous Pups does, but how they go about what they do."
They said this was an opportunity to help change people's lives.
Subsequently, the bank hosted a customer event earlier this month, which helped raise more than $1200.
The charity was invited to attend the customer event and to speak about the important work it does and the difference it can make to families in need across Australia.
It takes almost $30,000 to raise and train each assistance dog.
Mr Harris thanked those who supported the event, which ultimately raised $1223.
