What is the BDCA's top innings of the decade also doubles as the record score at Eaglehawk - Jeremy Brown's swashbuckling 215 n.o. made against Bendigo United in round four of 2017-18.

Brown's strike rate for the brutal innings was a whirlwind 164.1 as he spent a mere131 balls at the crease.

Coming off scores of just 12, 13 and four in his previous three innings, Brown put the young Redbacks to the sword, smashing 25 boundaries and 12 sixes in the Hawks' mammoth 404.

"It was one of those days where you hit a good shot and get away early, whereas I hadn't been able to do that before today," Brown said.

The Huntly-North Epsom opener didn't give a chance in his double century made against Bendigo at Atkins Street in round two, 2012-13.

Grundy was already 106 by tea and would go on to belt 26 boundaries during his 245-ball stay at the crease as the Power answered Bendigo's 260 with 3-361.

"I got to about 160 and then the fatigue started to set in. We know what it's like to be out in the field all day and chasing leather, so it was good to be on the other end of it," Grundy said after his innings.

This knock was one of four scores of 150-plus for Grundy through the decade.

You'd think if a team has a player make a double century then they will win the game. But that wasn't the case for Bendigo United in round three of 2018-19.

Despite 201 from Klemm the Redbacks (343) were beaten by 18 runs by White Hills (361) at Harry Trott Oval.

Klemm's double-century came in just his third knock for the Redbacks after crossing from Kangaroo Flat.

Batting at No.3, Klemm crunched 12 fours and four sixes during his 216-ball stay at the crease.

Klemm had one anxious moment while he was at the non-striker's end on 199 when No.11 Billy Quirk had a caught behind chance dropped.

Huntly-North Epsom

v Sandhurst

February 2, 2013

Grundy's 176 for the Power against Sandhurst in round 12 of 2012-13 came on a day he and captain Linc McRae shared in a 322-run opening stand.

As well as Grundy's 176, McRae made 145, with the pair batting together until the 69^th over before Grundy holed out and was caught by Shane Robinson.

Like his double ton earlier in the season, Grundy had already reached his century by the tea break after being given an earlier life when dropped on 28.

v Strathfieldsaye

February 2, 2019

This was the White Hills' captain at his explosive best earlier this year as he belted Strathfieldsaye all around Scott Street.

Winter-Irving was already 105 by tea, at which stage he and Rhys Irwin (72) had the Demons 0-186 before later declaring at 4-352 in the 74^th over.

Winter-Irving faced 196 balls and whacked 20 boundaries and one six before he became the first A Grade wicket for the Jets' Abe Sheahan.

This innings from Suns' captain Jacobs on a Sunday in November of 2012 came on a day in which he and Jono Davidson set a new Strathdale partnership record.

Jacobs and Davidson (88) put on 277 for the second wicket, helping the Suns to 3-327 in reply to the Demons' 8-199 at Scott Street

Jacobs cracked 21 boundaries and one six in his 238-ball innings, although, his efforts with the bat were overshadowed in the headlines that weekend with back page of the Addy the following day instead plastered with Kangaroo Flat being bowled out for just 29 by Golden Square.

White Hills' Stepien was just 17 at the time he torched Bendigo for a sizzling 170 at Atkins Street on Sunday early in the 2014-15 season.

In what was his maiden ton, opening batsman Stepien wasted no time asserting his authority, hitting the second ball he faced for six off fellow teenager Nathan Fitzpatrick, who the previous day had also scored his first century (115).

Stepien displayed all the hard-hitting traits that he is well known for these days down at Carlton, blasting six sixes and 15 boundaries in the Demons' 9-335 chasing Bendigo's 300.

Keeper Stepien also took five catches, while it wasn't a bad game either for the Demons' Mitch Winter-Irving, who made 101 n.o. and took 6-95

v Strathfieldsaye

The highest of Bowles' 12 career centuries started with the Demons under pressure at 1-4 chasing Strathfieldsaye's 9-279 at Scott Street.

Yet Bowles anchored a superb run-chase as his 165 n.o. off 235 balls led the Demons to 3-300, during which he had century partnerships with Ryan Grundy and Mitch Winter-Irving, who both made 58.

Left-hander Bowles' gritty innings featured 21 boundaries and one six.

Kangaroo Flat

v Strathfieldsaye

Just like his brother Jake's double ton last year came in a losing team at Bendigo United, so too did Dylan Klemm's remarkable bowling performance for Kangaroo Flat last month.

Klemm's 9-34 off 16.1 overs against Strathfieldsaye at the QEO are not only the best bowling figures of the decade, but the greatest in Kangaroo Flat history - yet the Roos lost by 30 runs after being bowled out for 107 chasing 137.

Klemm's nine wickets included five caught, two bowled and two lbw, with the only Strathfieldsaye player not to get out to him being Ben Devanny (39).

Howard spun the Dragons to a gripping one-run win over his former side, Strathdale-Maristians, in a Saturday-Sunday clash in round three of 2016-17.

With just 131 on the board to defend at Weeroona Oval, Howard captured 9-60 off 30.1 overs as the Suns were all out for 130 in reply.

Howard's ninth scalp was the match-winning wicket when he bowled Sam Johnston (26).

Six of Howard's nine wickets were unassisted in a game in which he set a new Sandhurst bowling benchmark.

v Strathfieldsaye

Only Bendigo United's Harold Hall (10-33 in 1907-08) and Eaglehawk's Joe Finch (10-79 in 1926-27) have taken all 10 wickets in a BDCA first XI innings.

However, it looked like Strathdale-Maristians' leg-spinner Cameron Taylor could join them when he had taken the first nine wickets to fall against Strathfieldsaye at Tannery Lane.

That left him needing to dismiss one of just Bodee Scullie (44 n.o.) or No.11 Michael Curtis (5) to join the 10-wicket club.

But he was unable to. Instead, Ben DeAraugo had Curtis caught by Andrew Hosking at slip, leaving Taylor, who bowled 41 balls to the last pair, stuck on nine wickets.

Taylor then followed up with 71 with the bat on day two the next week just to make sure of the three votes.

Before Dylan Klemm's nine-for last month leg-spinner Barber's 8-27 were the best bowling figures in Kangaroo Flat history.

After taking 3-33 in the first innings Barber claimed eight scalps in White Hills's second dig to finish with a match-haul of 11-60.

Four of Barber's eight second innings wickets were dismissals by wicket-keeper Josh Newlan - two caught and two stumped.

This was one of two eight-wicket hauls for Barber in the 2015-16 season after also taking 8-88 against Eaglehawk in a round six loss.

November 19-26, 2016

This was a memorable match at Atkins Street that featured two players take eight wickets.

The Hawks looked in all sorts of bother when they were bowled out for just 116, yet conjured a win thanks to 42-year-old Smith's 8-27 off 23.3 overs as the Goers were all out for 110 in reply.

"He's the most competitive, self-driven and loyal man you will ever meet," Hawks captain Cory Jacobs said after Smith's stellar performance.

"He'd do anything to win a game of cricket for Eaglehawk, and you just know that any time you throw him the ball, if he doesn't get a wicket he will create something from the other end - he's just got that knack."

Fitzpatrick's 8-29 came in the same game as Smith's eight wickets.

Fitzpatrick hadn't taken more than four wickets in an innings before he ripped through the Hawks with eight scalps, with all but one of them unassisted as his victims included five bowled and two lbw.

Who'd have thought Fitzpatrick's bowling figures would be later trumped in the same game?

v Strathdale-Maristians

At the time these were the BDCA's best bowling figures since 2001 as Tibbett tore through the reigning premier Suns at Canterbury Park.

The carnage started on the fourth ball of the match when Tibbett had Linton Jacobs (0) caught at slip by the Suns' captain's younger brother, Cory Jacobs.

Despite Tibbett's superb 8-32 off 19 overs, the Hawks were defeated after being bowled out for 158 in reply to the Suns' 172.

Huntly-North

v Eaglehawk

December 8, 2018

The best bowling figures by a Huntly-North player came on an overcast day at Canterbury Park when Ward cut a swathe through Eaglehawk.

Ward took five wickets with his first 37 balls and then added three more to finish with 8-39 off 21 overs as the Hawks were all out for 111 chasing the Power's 8-219.

Among the eight wickets was a ripper of a one-handed slips catch by Shehan De Silva to remove Brodie Hawke (4), with the Power's win over the Hawks building on the momentum that would lead them to the 2018-19 flag.
