Lucas Herbert fired five-under par in the opening round of the Australian PGA Championship to share the overnight lead with Brett Rankin.
A highlight of Herbert's first round on the par-72 RACV Royal Pines course was an eagle on the par five 12th hole.
One challenge for Herbert was managing an injured hand which caused him troubles two weeks prior at the Australian Open.
"I can still just feel it a little bit at times. There was one shot into the eighth today that I felt it a bit and it was a bit sore," Herbert told the PGA after the first round.
"At the Open I was kind of flinching and trying to not hurt my hand whereas I'm not really doing that now. Whether it's a wedge that you've got to take a pretty steep divot with, I'm actually okay with doing that, whereas I wasn't two weeks ago.
"Hand's really good, can't complain there. It's good to be healthy again and able to play."
Herbert will tee off at 11.20am on Friday alongside Peter Lonard and Nick O'Hern.
Fellow Bendigo golfer Andrew Martin finished at two-over par.
Martin will tee off at 7.20am alongside Campbell Rawson and Pedro Figueiredo.
