STRATHDALE-Maristians are just one win away from securing a berth in the grand final of Cricket Victoria's Regional Big Bash.
The Suns, who are representing the Northern Rivers region, have advanced to the final of the Renegades Conference following a pair of wins in Horsham on Sunday.
If the Suns win their Renegades Conference final against Haig Fawkner they will advance to the Regional Big Bash grand final to be played at the Junction Oval on January 26.
The Suns' two victories on Sunday came in knockout matches against Darley and Mildura Settlers and without star all-rounders Cameron Taylor and Sam Johnston (ankle).
In game one the Suns took 18.1 overs to reach 5-146 in reply to Darley's 9-142, with Linton Jacobs (36 n.o.) and Ben DeAraugo (33 n.o.) guiding the side over the line.
In game two Jack Neylon (70 off 52) and Grant Waldron (53 off 32) set up the Suns' 9-166 batting first.
Mildura Settlers were restricted to 6-149 in reply.
