Lawn bowler Lee Schraner has topped off a remarkable run of successes in his sport of lawn bowls to claim the Peak Bendigo Sports Star of the Year nomination for November.

The Bendigo East bowler last month capped an unbeaten run to win the World Singles Champion of Champions in Adelaide.
The event attracted competitors from 27 countries around the world.
The final was decided by a third-set tie-breaker as Schraner triumphed 7-6 6-9 2-1.
Schraner was the third Australian in the past four years to win the men's title.
Back in Bendigo, the talented sportsman is the playing coach of Bendigo East and a formidable figure in the club's quest for back-to-back division one premierships in Bendigo Bowls Division pennant.
Other contenders for the monthly nomination included Young Socceroo star Mitch Graham, who played a key role in defence as part of the national team, which has now qualified for next year's Asian Cup under-19 championships in Uzbekistan.
Graham's team won their group in the qualifying series in Chinese Taipei.
He played in the 2-2 draw with Laos and 6-0 thrashing of Macau.
He was rested in the 5-0 win against Chinese Taipei.
Back in Australia, Graham plays for Melbourne City in the nation's elite competition, the A-League.
Talented Bendigo Spirit guard Tessa Lavey took another step toward the 2020 Tokyo Olympics after success at a key pre-qualifying event.
Lavey and her Opals teammates scored an 84-51 win against Chinese Taipei, and beat India, 114-29. In game three, Japan defeated Australia, 82-69.
Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games qualifications will be contested in February.
Golfer Andrew Martin went agonisingly close to winning his first event on the Asian Tour last month, when presented with a birdie putt on the 18th hole to force his way into a play-off to decide the Thailand Open.
Sadly, the putt was wide as Andrew finished equal fourth - his best result on the Asian Tour.
Emerging cycling star Alexander Evans has earned a two-year deal with Continental pro team Wanty Gobert - Tormans.
The Bendigo rider had some superb results in 2019 for SEG Racing Academy. He won the eighth stage in the Tour de l'Avenir, and is a finalist Cycling Australia, Cyclist of the Year Awards for under-23 class.
Endurance runner Jill Wilkie has completed another fine year in half and full-marathons across the world. Wilkie was seventh fastest in her age group, 50-54 years, in the world.
Cricketer Xavier Crone enjoyed a stint of three matches for Victoria in the Marsh Cup one-day action for the pace bowler last month.
Crone captured two wickets in a one-run loss to South Australia at the MCG, and a key wicket in a six-run win against NSW at the MCG.
