A 22-year-old Bendigo man is assisting police with their inquiries following a raid on behalf of the NDIS Fraud Taskforce.
The taskforce is a partnership between the Australian Federal Police, the National Disability Insurance Agency and the Department of Human Services.
Its focus is on high risk and serious criminal activity targeting the NDIS.
"As the investigation is ongoing it would not be appropriate to comment further," the NDIS said in a statement.
Agents from the Australian Federal Police and the National Disability Insurance Agency are searching a home in Bendigo.
Officers arrived at the property on Ruby Street in White Hills early Thursday morning.
"The AFP is executing search warrants in Bendigo today on behalf of the National Disability Insurance Agency as part of an ongoing investigation," an AFP spokesperson said.
The NDIA is yet to comment on the reasons for the operation.
More to come.
