Perez's Bendigo Pioneers team-mate Brodie Kemp has been given the number 17 by his new club Carlton.
It's the same number former Pioneers and Eaglehawk star Damien Lock wore in his 18 games for the Blues in the late 1990s.
Kemp, from Echuca, was selected by the Blues with pick 17 of the national draft.
The other two Pioneers' products selected in the draft have also been given their numbers.
Thomson Dow will wear 27 with Richmond, while Brady Rowles has number 39 at the Sydney Swans.
