Steven Bryan Whitlock, 25, appeared in the Bendigo Magistrates Court on Monday.
He has been charged with five offences, including stealing a motor vehicle, reckless conduct endangering life, and committing an indictable offence while on bail.
Police allege on Saturday Mr Whitlock stole a White 2001 Toyota Rav 4 Wagon and drove the stolen car at a high speed while intoxicated.
Mr Whitlock is accused of failing to make a left-hand turn in the road, resulting in the car leaving the road, launching off a small embankment, and crashing into the lounge room of a McCormacks Road home.
Police allege Mr Whitlock stole the car while he was on bail.
The car was also not registered with VicRoads.
Mr Whitlock did not apply for bail on Monday.
The court heard it was his first time in custody and that he was being treated for a number of physical injuries.
Mr Whitlock was remanded in custody. He will return to the Bendigo Magistrates Court in February.
