BBD - First Bendigo East, now Eaglehawk as Kangaroo Flat claims another scalp

KANGAROO Flat finally ended a decade of beatings at the hands of Eaglehawk as its impressive form in BBD weekend pennant continued.

The Flat ensured there was no let-up from their previous week's win over Bendigo East, backing it up with a 91-87 victory over their long-time nemesis at Eaglehawk.

Saturday's win was Kangaroo Flat's first against the Hawks since round three of the 2009-10 season.

Having started the season with two losses and a washed out draw from their opening three games, the Flat hits the halfway mark on a four-game winning streak and in third position on the ladder.

The Kangaroo Flat rink of skipper Barry Anset (+13) continued its impressive form with a fourth-consecutive win by double figures, this time against Dean Carter 26-13.

And David Keenan's rink also bowled well for the Flat to inflict a second loss in a row on Darren Burgess, 26-18.

Simon Carter's rink bounced back from two losses in a row for the Hawks to comfortably account for Paul Moller 32-17.

The Hawks have hit a slump with the defeat their third loss in a row, which has only happened once previously over the past decade (rounds two, three and four of 2015-16).

* Bendigo East produced a brutal performance at home against Castlemaine.

Coming off their first loss for almost a year a week earlier, the Beasties decimated the Maine 129-78 at home.

Lee Schraner (+18), Brad Marron (+19) and Aarom Tomkins (+18) all had commanding wins for the Beasties.

Despite the one-sided result, the Maine did manage to pick up one rink with Greg Podesta's 29-25 win over Ian Ross.

* South Bendigo maintained second spot with a 102-81 win over Bendigo.

Bendigo was beaten despite the performance of Mitch Hocking's rink, which became the first to defeat Brad Holland this season with its tight 20-19 win.

* Golden Square moved to within eight points of the top four after proving too good at home for Inglewood, winning 101-83.
