The Capitals held an 11-point buffer at half-time and then put the game out of the Spirit's reach with a dominant third quarter en route to the 91-66 result.
The scoreline was the third time during their five losses in a row the Spirit have given up at least 90 points.
The Capitals had a hot hand from long-range, connecting on 14 three-pointers, including seven to Kia Nurse among her game-high 32 points.
Tessa Lavey (17 points), Shyla Heal (15) and Gabe Richards (14) led the Spirit offence.
Former Spirit star Kelsey Griffin had a double-double (15 points, 12 rebounds) for the Capitals, who improve to 8-2 in their title defence.
The Spirit have slumped to 2-8 ahead of a trip Sunday to Townsville (1-7).
