BENDIGO netballer Ruby Barkmeyer has been added to the Melbourne Vixens squad as one of the team's five training partners.
The Vixens confirmed on Friday their five training partners, which includes 18-year-old shooter Barkmeyer.
"Getting the chance to train with the Vixens is going to be a great opportunity that I'm looking forward to," Barkmeyer said on Friday.
"As a training partner we will train every week with the squad and if the opportunity comes up we are eligible to get a game, so it's really exciting."
Barkmeyer's selection as a Vixens training partner continues what has been a big week for the young gun.
Earlier in the week Barkmeyer was among the 12 players named in the Victorian under-19 team for next April's Australian Netball Championships in Hobart.
Also selected as training partners for the Vixens are returning players Sacha McDonald, Allie Smith and Jacqui Newton, plus Elle McDonald.
"It will be fantastic to have Sacha, Allie and Jacqui back around the group in 2020, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how Elle and Ruby thrive in our training environment as well," Vixens coach Simone McKinnis said.
