Dahlia & Arts Festival vice president and carols organiser Laurie Fitzgerald said he hoped about 2000 people would turn out for the event on Sunday night.
"We want the crowd from 2017 when we got 2000 through. That was an exceptionally big crowd," Mr Fitzgerald said.
A wet weather contingency plan has been developed after a storm forced last year's event to be cancelled.
"We have got a wet weather contingency for the first time," Mr Fitzgerald said. "We have reserved the Liborius Centre, which holds more than 1000 people."
The forecast predicts sun and 31 degrees. Eaglehawk's Canterbury Carols are free and on Sunday from 6pm. Performances start at 7pm.
Performers include choirs from Eaglehawk North, St Liborius and Eaglehawk primary schools, the McMillan Sisters, Scarlett Abbott, the Eaglehawk Citizens Brass Band, the Our Place Minstrels, Sing Australia Choir and Bendigo Baptist Band.
