Phillips is taking over the top role from Mandy Burrill-Grinton as both A and B-grade coach in 2020.
"In the past I've always been a leader but never a coach," Phillips said.
The role as A-grade coach is a challenge she is ready to pursue.
"It's a challenge both mentally and physically that I'm ready for," Phillips said.
"As coach my focus will be on building the players' confidence and to get the self-belief back into the team that we can win."
Phillips first played with the Blues in 2009 before she took time off to have children, followed by a three-year stint with Golden Square.
Most recently she was on the Blues' A-grade netball team in 2019.
In the team's return in 2019, they had three wins and a handful of narrow defeats.
There was a two-goal win over Pyramid Hill in round five, 38-36.
A one-goal win over Marong in round 10, 54-53. Followed by a 14-goal win over Pyramid Hill in round 14, 54-40.
"Our return to A-grade proved to be a great comeback," Phillips said.
"It was unexpected to get three great wins on the board. I'm hoping to maintain and improve on them."
Inglewood will hold senior netball tryouts at the Golden City Netball Courts next week.
Thursday December 12 and Tuesday December 17 from 5.30pm onward.

The appointment of Phillips locks in the club's senior coaches for 2020, with 1986 premiership player and Team of the Century member Darrell Billet returning to the helm of the football team.
Inglewood president Chris Cohalan said the club was pleased to have the two coaches locked in.
"Since we've announced both Tegan and Darrell the response has been amazing," Cohalan said.
"We're also very happy to have an A-grade squad up and running again, it wasn't ideal for us when we didn't have one a couple years ago.
"Mandy did a great job last year and I'm sure Tegan learned a lot from her.
"In her own right, Tegan is a great player and I look forward to what she and the team will accomplish."
The club will be holding a Christmas family day on Sunday December 22 from 12pm onward at Inglewood Recreation Reserve.
There will be an opportunity to meet the new coaches and Santa Claus will be handing out presents.
