Central Victoria's greatest netballer added another honour to her stellar career on Saturday night.
Bamawm product Sharelle McMahon was inducted into the Netball Australia Hall of Fame at the Netball Australia awards night.
The 42-year-old is widely regarded as Australia's greatest goal attack.
She played 118 games for Australia, was a two-time world champion and two-time Commonwealth Games gold medalist.
The highlight of her career was shooting the match-winning goal for Australia against New Zealand in the 1999 World Championship final.
At national level, McMahon was a part of six premiership teams - five with the Melbourne Phoenix and one with the Melbourne Vixens.
McMahon, who is now an assistant coach with the Vixens, was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame three years ago.
Meanwhile, Bendigo's Caitlin Thwaites was also recognised at the Netball Australia awards.
After announcing her retirement from international netball in October, Thwaites was honoured by NA for her outstanding career with the Diamonds.
After debuting for the Diamonds in 2012, Thwaites played in gold medal-winning teams at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games and 2015 World Cup. Thwaites will continue to play in the Super Netball league for Melbourne Vixens in 2020.
Thwaites' Australian team-mate Gretel Tippett won the feature award of the night - the Liz Ellis Diamond.
The 26-year-old goal attack took out Australian netball's most prestigious individual accolade in Sydney on Saturday on the back of great consistency at domestic and international levels.
Tippett scored 267 goals for the Diamonds at 95 per cent, and was a strong performer in both the World Cup and Constellation Cup.
The athletic shooter was also a shining light for the struggling Queensland Firebirds in their miserable Super Netball campaign, tallying 394 goals at 96 per cent and 130 goal assists, winning the Laura Geitz Medal as their best and fairest player.
Tippett also won International Player of the Year at the Australian netball awards and was named at goal attack in the Suncorp Super Netball Team of the Year.
The Melbourne Vixens were dominant when it came to the announcement of the Suncorp Super Netball Team of the Year, with four Vixens earning a spot on the 10-player list - the most of any team in the league.
Vixens' co-vice-captain Liz Watson was named at wing attack, and was joined in the midcourt by Vixens' captain, Kate Moloney at centre, and retired stalwart, Renae Ingles at wing defence. Emily Mannix joined the trio, named as the team's goal keeper.
