Police are continuing to investigate the crash near Heathcote.
Bendigo Highway Patrol Senior Sergeant Ian Brooks said nobody had been charged in relation to the crash.
He said police were making further inquiries and waiting for blood test results.

The driver of a car that crashed on the weekend near Heathcote, critically injuring a passenger, has been questioned about the smash.
"A woman has sustained life-threatening injuries following a crash in Heathcote on Saturday night," police said.
"A car travelling south along Heathcote-Redesdale Road has lost control and struck a patch of trees shorty before 9pm.
"The female passenger was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition.
"The 44-year-old male driver, from Bacchus Marsh, has spoken with police and been released pending further enquiries.
"Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating.
"Any witnesses or anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000."

The woman injured in yesterday night's Mia Mia crash remains in a critical condition at the Alfred, a hospital spokesperson says.
8.40am
ONE person has been airlifted to the Alfred Hospital after a crash last night near Mia Mia.
Their car was travelling south along the Heathcote-Redesdale Road when it appears to have lost control and veered off the road, Acting Sergeant Patrick Grelis said.
The crash was reported to emergency services just before 9pm.
A woman in her 40s was trapped in the vehicle and freed before air ambulance arrived, an Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said.
She was airlifted to Melbourne in a critical condition with head and facial injuries.
