Four CFA crews from Wooroonook, Corack, Charlton and Donald are on scene at the stubble fire, which was called in at 3.40pm.
Seven other fire crews are en route to the fire
A CFA spokesman said a Helitak air firefighting aircraft is on scene and concentrating on the head of the fire.
"One tanker is protecting a farm house that is some distance from the fire," the spokesperson said. "It is about 2km away and not under threat.
"Crews are hoping to control the fire in under an hour and will be mopping up into the late afternoon."
The fire has crossed Old School Bus Road.
Advice has been issued for the Coonooer West, Cope Cope, Dooboobetic, Jeffcott, Jeffcott North communities.
The fire is travelling in a south-easterly direction but there is no threat to communities.
Nearby residents should stay informed and keep the roads clear.
