SOUNDS OF PSALMS
Sounds of Psalms: A program of sacred music to touch the heart.
Bendigo Chorale presents a concert of inspiring and time-honoured music by Bach, Mozart, Stravinsky and Thompson.
What better way to ring in the holiday season than by listening to beautiful music from some of the greatest composers the world has ever known.
The concert setting is in a local and much-loved cathedral, with perfect acoustics for the performance.
Admission: Adults $25, concession and students $20, children 12 and under free.

JAZZ JAM
The Castlemaine Jazz Jam is on again, entertaining crowds with local jazz music.
This is the last performance for the year.
Community members can get together and sing, play or listen to the various tunes that will fill the bar.
All are welcome to come along, sing, play or listen.
Where: The Maurocco Bar, 4 Templeton Street, Castlemaine.
When: Sunday, December 1, 2pm to 5pm.
BAGUNGGA
Kyneton Museum is excited to present Bagungga (meaning 'to gather or collect'), an exhibition of contemporary Aboriginal art and crafts.
Items in this exhibition have been collected during owners' visits to Aboriginal communities throughout Australia.
This is the first time this private collection has been on public display.
$5 adult, $3 concession and children under five free, $10 family, $2.50 school group (with activities).

DANCES
EVENING DANCE
Come along to the Spring Gully Hall and enjoy great music by Adrian Holmes Trio.
There will also be a good program, and delicious home-cooked supper.
Raffle and prizes. Admission $9.

CHRISTMAS DANCE
The Rockin' '50s Rock n Roll Club will host its Christmas rock 'n roll dance.
The dance will feature the top Melbourne band The Vincents plus a DJ.
Bring your own drinks, nibbles and supper.

COMMUNITY EVENTS
WALK INTO HISTORY
The Bendigo Historical Society will host its Walk into History at the weekend.
This walk will focus on the Bank of Australasia, Myer, Mining Exchange - Beehive, Favaloros and Pike's Corner.

BENDIGO KIDS TRIATHLON
If you are or you have a child aged seven to 15, head along to this fun day out with your friends, family and local community.
This kids-only triathlon is a non-competitive day out.
The event is aimed at encouraging the younger generation to be active and have fun in the outdoors.
Ages are put into the following event:
- Seven to nine years: 25m pool Swim, 2km ride, 500m run
- 10-12 years: 50m pool swim, 4km ride, 1km run
- 13-15 years: 75m pool swim, 6km ride, 1km run

SUMMER FUN DAY
Come and join in for the start of summer with a summer fun day.
There will be activities from The Zone, Waterslides, big bomb competition in the diving pool and spot prizes to be won.

PLANET MINDERS PICNIC
Bendigo District Australian Conservation Foundation and the Youth Environmental Sustainability Group are excited to be co-hosting this event.
This event is suitable for the whole family and will showcase all of the ways that community members can get involved in caring for our planet.
There will be guest speakers, music, information stalls, face painting and plenty of activities for children.
Bring some lunch and join in with other planet minders and work together for the earth.
Where: Crook Street Park, Crook Street, Bendigo.
When: Sunday, December 1, noon to 2pm.
16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM
The Central Goldfields Shire is hosting a variety of events for the 2019 16 Days of Activism program.
The events started on Monday, with a special official launch in Maryborough.
The theme for this year's program is Respect Women/ Call it Out.
The theme aims to develop a positive message around respectful relationships and gender equality.
Some of the events include: The Zonta Club's flowerbed launch, a women's circle, story-time for children, using creativity and voice, and a community vigil.

WEDDERBURN CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL
The Wedderburn Patchwork Group presents the 29th Wedderburn Community Christmas Festival.
The event will include a community craft and quilt competition and exhibition, with market stalls, light refreshments and musical items.
Adult entry $5; children free entry.

PLAN AHEAD
OPEN GARDENS
Open Gardens Victoria is a not-for-profit organisation, continuing the long tradition of opening private gardens throughout Victoria following the closure of Open Gardens Australia.
This weekend, two Macedon gardens are open for all the plant lovers.
There will be Stephen Ryan's Tugurium and the Caelum garden.
Tugurium is Stephen Ryan's home garden which is full of rare and unusual plants to discover.
Stephen will showcase his acanthus, elderflowers (Sambucus) and angels trumpets (Brugmansia) which can be enjoyed alongside a coffee.
There will also be Craig Lidgerwood's artworks and rare plants for sale.

Caelum is a garden with many hidden corners to explore.
It features a collection of rare maples, an ornamental fish pond, caged vegetable garden and paths that are surrounded by colourful mature trees.
This open garden will also include music, from 1pm and rare plants for sale.

Entry into the gardens is adults $8, students $5, under 18 free.
