THE last of the Loddon Valley league's 2020 coaching positions has been filled with the return of Darrell Billett to the helm of Inglewood.
Billett - an Inglewood 1986 premiership player and Team of the Century member - previously had a coaching stint with the Blues from 2006 to 2008.
"We approached Darrell about the role and he's only too happy to do it," Inglewood president Chris Cohalan said.
"We're really happy with the appointment and now we're ready to move forward."
It has been a tough slog for Inglewood since the Blues last played senior finals in 2003.
The Blues were winless this year and have claimed eight of the past nine wooden-spoons.
"We're not expecting any huge turnaround next year, but we'll have a team on the field," Cohalan said.

"Like any club we'll have a few players leaving, but nowhere near the amount of numbers that people seem to be talking about.
"I'm confident we'll retain most of our players... to this stage we've had very few transfers put in."
With the appointment of Billett - who is taking over from Ryan McNish as coach - the Blues can now ramp up their recruiting in preparation for 2020.
"That has obviously been a problem for us over the past couple of months - what can you say to a prospective player when he asks who is the coach and you can't answer it," Cohalan said.
"So with Darrell appointed we can move forward and start recruiting players.
"Darrell is up for the challenge; he's keen and ready to go."
The most memorable of Billett's victories during his first stint as coach of the Blues was in round four of 2007 when Inglewood snapped a 51-game losing streak against Marong.
While it was a tough year on the field for Inglewood's seniors in 2019, the Blues' reserves and under-18 sides both made the finals with a double chance.

Yet another tough year for the Blues, who endured a winless 2019 - the closest they came to a victory being their one-point loss to BL-Serpentine in round two.
And the post-season hasn't started much better either, with best and fairest winner Lachlan Sidebottom having already been announced as a White Hills' recruit.
Tough sell to find positives out of the year, but outgoing coach Ryan McNish labelled the development of players such as Matt Rowe, Taj Rodwell, Liam Drummond, Sam Barnes and Jaxon Billett as the silver lining.
