WALK TO D'FEET MND
Walk with your local community and support those with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
This event will help raise funds for care, equipment and research for the disease.

SATURDAY NIGHT DANCE
Come along to the Spring Gully Hall and enjoy great music by Bitz'N'Pieces Dance Band.
There will also be a good program and delicious home cooked supper.
The evening will also have a raffle and prizes.

WALK UP FUNDRAISER
Join in for a concert fundraiser for the Australian Niemann Pic Disease Foundation.
All door proceeds will go towards supporting the foundation.
The event will include performances by Les Smith, Dawn Gerrish, Leigh Bice, Rob Danials, Peter and Evelyn Sheahan, Olive Bice, Bendigo Bill, Floreena Forbes, Rod Bryant, Annette Sharp, and many more.
There will also be an afternoon tea supplied and lucky people prizes.
Walk up artists welcome, please register before 1pm on the day.

16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM
The Central Goldfields Shire is hosting a variety of events for the 2019 16 Days of Activism program.
The events commence from Monday, November 25, with a special official launch held in Maryborough.
The theme for this years program is Respect Women/Call it Out.
The theme aims to develop a positive message around respectful relationships and gender equality.
Some of the events include: The Zonta Club's flowerbed launch, a Women's Circle, Story-time for children, Using Creativity and Voice and a Community Vigil.

CFA SUNDAY MAIDEN GULLY
Along with brigades across Victoria, the Maiden Gully Fire Brigade will be having an open day for the fire season.
Our volunteers will be welcoming community members and showing off the station, vehicles and other facilities.
You can chat with us about your personal summer fire preparations while watching demonstrations of fire trucks, firefighting techniques and use of extinguishers.
Visiting this year will be specialist fire trucks from Golden Square and a Rescue truck from Marong SES.
We will also have other community groups present.
Bring your family and enjoy a free sausage sizzle run by the Maiden Gully Marong Lions Club.
You can even learn how to put out a fire on your stove and may get to meet Captain Koala.

EAGLEHAWK BRIGADE OPEN DAY
The Eaglehawk Fire Brigade will open its doors to the public for fire training drills, safety demonstation and fire station tours.
Prepare yourself and know what to do if a fire is in your community.
Members from the brigade will also be on hand to give advice.
Anyone interested in joining the CFA is also welcome to come along for a look and a chat.
There will also be a barbecue and fun activities for children including a colouring competition and badge making.

PEONY FARM
Celebrate spring and the peony season at Romswood Farm.
The farm will open its gates to the community, so attendees can pick their own peonies and enjoy this scenic property.
Romswood Farm is thought to have Australia's largest variety of peonies, all beautifully displayed and ready for picking.
Pack yourself a picnic, taste the food available, listen to live music and indulge in some of the peony products on offer.
This event is a family-friendly event with children able to participate in guided nature walks.
Pre-purchased tickets are available for $13 here, or they can be purchased at the gate for $15. Children have free entry.

FESTIVALS AND FAIRS
TRADITIONAL ARTS FAIR
Following the success of the 2018 fair, Buda's annual Traditional Arts Fair is on again in Castlemaine.
The fair will showcase traditional arts, cooking and gardening in as many forms as possible, in the spirit of the Leviny daughters.
Hilda Leviny, the youngest of the Leviny women who lived in Castlemaine, held a fundraising event every year at Buda Historic Home and Garden and in her legacy, Buda is opening their doors for the open day.
There will be various skills on show, with patchworks, spinning, weaving, knitting, lacemaking, etching and much more.
The day will also feature a special craft tutor who will give short workshops so attendees can create their own crafts to take home.
These sessions cost $10 each, with all materials supplied. Bookings taken on the day.
The day will also include various teas, coffees, a barbecue and other delicious foods.
Entry $5 per person, children free.

WEDDERBURN CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL
The Wedderburn Patchwork Group presents the 29th Wedderburn Community Christmas Festival.
The event will include a community craft and quilt competition and exhibition, with market stalls, light refreshments and musical items.
Adult entry $5; children free entry.

BENDIGO LEISUREFEST

HEIFER CLASSIC
Hosted by the North Victorian All Breeds Heifer Classic this event is one for the whole family to enjoy.
On Saturday, there will a clipping and showing workshop for all breeds of heifers and a barbecue dinner.
There will also be fun and games from 7pm.
On Sunday, the Heifer Classic show starts, with the popular fancy dress competiton and a barbecue lunch.

SHORT FILM FESTIVAL
The Bendigo Short Film Festival is on again, presenting two screenings for audiences.
Screening one will include the best new shorts from Australia and around the world; with screening two showcasing brand new films in Bendigo.
Both screenings have $1000 and $500 prizes.
There is an entry fee for the open category but it's free to enter the Bendigo Prize, for more information and to book tickets, click here.
Films must be under 15 minutes long and made within the last three years.
Films have a rating of MA15 - 15 years and older, 15 - 18 year olds must be accompanied by an adult.

EXHIBITIONS
SCULPTURE IN MOTION
Following on from the successful Art in the Vines - Sculpture Exhibition and Trail, the Hanging Rock Winery is pleased to announce its second exhibition, Art in the Vines - Sculpture in Motion.
This exhibition will showcase sculptures relying on motion for effect.
Some of the works exhibited are made by kinetic sculpture artist Rudi Jass; winner of Bondi's Sculpture by the Sea in 2018 James Parrett; local artists; and creator of the Federation Bells in Melbourne's Birrarung Marr, Anton Hasell.

GARDEN SCULPTURE EXHIBITION
Get into the spirit of spring with the Mica Grange Open Garden Sculpture Exhibition.
The gardens are full of creativity and garden enhancers with sculptures from all over Australia.
There is also a wide variety of garden art, plants, preserves and much more.
There will be something for everyone at the exhibition, with prices starting from a mere $5 to the more expensive $7000 items.
The exhibition will feature Australian natives, vegetable gardens, rose walks, proteas, fairy gardens and much more.
