Samantha Lyndell Azzopardi, 31, was charged earlier this month with two counts of child stealing, stating a false name and dishonestly retaining stolen goods.
Police allege she was found with a 10-month-old baby and a four-year-old child in Pall Mall, and was in possession of a stolen passport.
Ms Azzopardi appeared in the Bendigo Magistrates' Court for the first time on Wednesday morning, via video link.
The court heard further charges were laid against Ms Azzopardi.
Among these was a third charge of child stealing, which was alleged to have taken place between December 2018 and June 2019.
Ms Azzopardi is also accused of posing as a qualified au pair by the name of Harper Hernandez to gain money, having been charged with 26 counts of obtaining property by deception in relation to amounts of $250.
These alleged crimes occurred between last December and this June.
Ms Azzopardi faces a further charge of obtaining property by deception, for allegedly acquiring a school uniform by purporting to be a nurse with a patient who required that clothing.
The new charges also include 18 counts of possessing another person's identification information, theft of an iPad, and making a false report to police.
Ms Azzopardi was first due to appear in Bendigo Magistrates' Court on Monday, November 4, but did not as she was in hospital under police guard undergoing tests.
The following day a magistrate granted a police application to take DNA from and photograph Ms Azzopardi.
She will return to the Bendigo Magistrates' Court in January.
