The state's premier netball body has announced a list of finalists for its 2019 Community Awards.
Among them is White Hills Football Netball Club's Lauren Bowles who is a finalist for the Coaching Excellence Award.
"It is such an honour," Bowles said.
"Our coaching group has been lucky to have a couple of successful years on the court.
"This type of award isn't just about me as an individual, but the coaching team I have and work alongside.
"It's not just one person who gets the results on the court, it's a team effort from all coaches and players."
Bowles coached both the A-grade and A-reserve in 2019 but praised the endless support from her managers Sarah Thiesz and Shan Keely.
In addition to the other grade coaches Alana Prime and Emily Gloury.
Bowles has led the A-grade squad to premiership glory in the past two seasons, accomplishments which have affirmed her love for coaching.
"Initially coaching was something I did because I had a slight interest in it and over the past couple seasons I have really loved it," Bowles said.
Bowles said the White Hills squads always remained her number one priority, but that there were other opportunities which interested her.
"I want to take on other opportunities which might arise such as representative teams...and I love coaching juniors and watching them progress," Bowles said.
"I see a real future in coaching, as I won't be playing forever."
However, most of all Bowles was pleased the awards highlighted the hardwork of all involved with the sport.
"The awards are amazing," she said.
"We've always known netball is a popular sport, but it's nice to recognise not just the coaches, but volunteers and all of the other people involved for their behind the scenes dedication."
Meanwhile, St Therese's Primary School Kennington was named as a finalist within the School of the Year category and also for its NetSetGo program that is held at the school.
The club's president Shannon Vaughan said it reflected the hard work of the committee which helped establish the NetSetGo program.
"We've all worked very hard to build an inclusive club that's available to all of the students," Shannon said.
"We are proud of our achievements and the positive developmental culture we've established at the school. As well as supporting teams for Saturday netball, the club has held skills sessions with guest coaches and bus trips to watch the Vixens play in Melbourne."
Shannon said the program wouldn't be successful without the input of Sharni McPherson who established NetSetGo at the school.
"Sharni put in endless hours to get the program up and running which now provides the players with solid skills to pursue association netball and beyond," Shannon said.
"When the players get to Grade 3 and start playing association netball for the school club St Therese's Stars, they have a solid base of fundamental skills."
Heathcote District Football Netball League and South Bendigo FNC - were also named as finalists for the WorkSafe Safety Initiative Award.
The overall 2019 Netball Victoria Community Award winners will be announced on Monday November 25.
