Police intercepted Steven Gault near Wedderburn in May this year after recording his speed at 128 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.
It was discovered Gault was also disqualified, although he told police he thought he had "sorted it all out".
The Wedderburn resident said he was speeding because he was not paying attention.

This week he pleaded guilty in the Bendigo Magistrates' Court to speeding and driving while disqualified.
Defence lawyer Kim Parker told the court that Gault needed to provide information on a medical condition to VicRoads in order to regain his licence, but he had not been able to do so as he did not have a treating practitioner.
Ms Parker said this was at the root of his repeated driving offences, and asked magistrate Dr Michael King to consider fining Gault.
Police prosecutor Senior Constable Dave Rennie said Gault's medical condition was irrelevant, as he continued to choose to drive.

In sentencing Gault, Dr King said he appreciated living in Wedderburn presented certain challenges, but Gault could not drive until he had a valid licence.
He noted Gault had a propensity to flout court orders in his repeated decision to drive while disqualified.
Given Gault's record, Dr King said, imprisonment was becoming a sentencing option.
Gault was convicted and fined $1500, with costs.
His licence was disqualified for a further three months.
